Bio
I was born and raised near Chicago, Illinois, USA. I received my B.S. in computer science and mathematics from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 2017. In 2023, I finished my PhD studies in mathematics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, under the supervision of Prof. Philipp Hieronymi (now at Universität Bonn). I then spent three years as a postdoc working with Prof. Jason Bell of the University of Waterloo before moving to Saarbrücken.
I am nonbinary/gender-diverse; in official English-speaking contexts I prefer they/them pronouns. In German, I have no pronoun preference; feel free to mix and match as you see fit.
Research interests
- Finite and Büchi automata and their applications
- Decision problems and interdefinability for various theories of arithmetic
- Numeration systems, esp. Ostrowski numeration
Personal interests
In my spare time, I'm a fan of adventure games, especially in the science fiction genre. I write fiction, compose music, and develop video games. Feel free to ask me about any of this anytime if you want. I also play the ocarina on occasion, so let me know if you want to hear a demonstration.
